Wallpapering

I offer a full wallpapering service which includes removal of existing coverings, thorough preparation, priming/sealing and cross-lining before hanging the final wallpaper.

I hang all printed standard width (52 cm) wallpapers and wide paper backed material wallcoverings including silk, suede, hand print, digital print as well as panoramic. I wallpaper a variety of spaces – homes, restaurants, shops, offices, hotels. From a single feature wall to whole decoration schemes, no job is too big or too small.

I can also help you to choose suitable wallpapers either to correspond or contrast with the existing decor and date of the building.

Further services include all other painting and decorating work (emulsion and gloss work, including hand painted kitchens and furniture) to a high specification.

Wallpaper hanging requires skill, patience and time and the best results are achieved by not cutting corners.

Wallpapering procedure – My standard wallpapering service includes:

Stripping – removing existing wallcoverings.

Preparation – Dust free sanding of the walls to remove traces of old glue and size. Fllling and making good the wall surfaces. Sand, remove dust residue then apply a primer/sealer. A perfect surface is needed to prepare the surface for a perfect finish.

Lining – Lining paper is then hung horizontally (cross lining). This helps make the surface more even and provides the perfect surface necessary for the correct adhesion of most high quality wallcoverings and prevents seam splitting.

Wallcovering: All types can be hung – Repeat patterned paper; bespoke panoramic; paper backed silk & fabric, flock, textured.
